Worship Ministry

Mission Statement:

  • Proclaim the good news and love of Jesus Christ through dynamic worship.

  • To usher the congregation into the presence of the true and living God and create an environment that encourages worship in spirit and truth.

Ministry Meetings: Quarterly, 3rd Monday 7:00pm

  1. ACOLYTES: This group of youth, ages 10-17 are responsible for bringing the light of God into the sanctuary via the lighting of the altar candles.
  2. COMMUNION STEWARDS: This ministry prepares and assists with serving the elements of The Lord's Supper.
  3. GREETERS: This ministry serves as the initial point of welcome for worshipers entering the sanctuary.
  4. USHERS: This ministry greets and seats all persons attending worship services. Help to maintain order in the worship service and administer the collection of God's tithes and all offerings. The ushers also assemble and distribute the Sunday bulletin.
  5. MEDIA MINISTRY: This ministry is responsible for the production and sale of all audio and visual media. Overseeing the sound systems and ancillary equipment for all services. CDs and DVDs are available for purchase immediately following each Sunday worship service.
  6. MUSIC MINISTRY: This ministry provides praise and worship leadership via music, instrumentally and vocally. There are several choirs that minister at St. James including the Voices of Faith, the Sanctuary Choir, the Men's Choir, the Youth Choir and the Seeds of Praise Children's Choir. An anointed band accompanies the choirs.
  7. WEDDING MINISTRY: This ministry coordinates and assists with the planning of weddings that take place in the sanctuary.
  8. PASTORAL CARE: This ministry provides meals for the Pastors and their families between worship services on Sundays. They are also responsible for the care and cleaning of the Pastor’s robes.
  9. POWER POINT MINISTRY: This ministry provides support for any presentations that are displayed in the sanctuary.
